Fiber Splice & Termination Services
Expert fiber optic splicing and termination using Fujikura and Sumitomo fusion splicers — delivering industry-leading splice losses under 0.05 dB.
Overview
Fiber splicing and termination require specialized equipment and trained technicians to achieve the low-loss connections that high-speed networks demand. Summit DNC performs fusion splicing with Fujikura and Sumitomo splicers, achieving average splice losses under 0.05 dB. We also perform mechanical splicing and field-polish connector termination for situations where fusion splicing is impractical. Every splice and termination is verified with OTDR testing to ensure it meets or exceeds TIA-568.3-E loss budgets.
Key Benefits
- Lowest possible splice loss for maximum link budget
- OTDR-verified quality on every splice
- Emergency repair capability minimizes outage duration
- Ribbon splicing handles 12 fibers simultaneously
- Permanent, reliable connections rated for 30+ year life
- Compliant with TIA-568.3-E loss specifications

Our Process
How We Work
Preparation
Strip, clean, and cleave fiber ends to mirror-flat surfaces using precision cleavers.
Alignment
Load fibers into the splicer and verify core alignment under microscope magnification.
Fusion
Apply electric arc to fuse the fiber cores together, achieving sub-0.05 dB loss.
Protection
Apply heat-shrink splice protector and organize the splice in a splice tray.
Verification
Test the splice with OTDR from both directions to confirm loss is within specification.
